Using Lamination Makes a Lasting Impression

Lamination_What you should know

Lamination is the bonding of a thin, transparent layer of film to the surface of a printed sheet. It can be applied to presentation folders, menus, loyalty cards, postcards, business cards, and packaging.  Lamination creates a richer look and feel than just paper alone.  Colors appear more brilliant and also add protection against scuffs, tears and spills.

Lamination DO

  • DO use lamination to make a printed piece more durable
  • DO easily wipe laminated pieces clean if they get dirty
  • DO apply lamination to one or both sides_ as a flood coating or spot lamination on specific elements
  • Do choose gloss, matte or soft feel texture based on what your print design needs

Lamination DON’T

  • DON’T expect 100% color match, as lamination can shift color balance
  • DON’T emboss due to potential laminate releasing can affect the look
  • DON’T approve a proof before laminate has been applied if color is critical
  • DON’T undervalue the longevity and cost effectiveness lamination can add to a printed piece!

Other coating offered

  • UV coating
  • Aqueous coating

UV and Aqueous coatings can be applied as full flood or spot application.  This is great on flyers, brochures or catalogs when you need pictures or graphics to standout on a printed piece.  You can also use UV  or Aqueous coatings on Presentation folders, business cards and packaging as well.

Business Cards are the Essential Marketing Tool

Business Cards are used to make first impressions with our potential customers.

You can spend thousands of dollars on marketing materials and brochures, but the first thing a customer or strategic partner will see is your business card.  It makes sense to combine your efforts to create a brand.  Make sure you include your business card.  The business card is essential to building your business.  You will hand them out at meeting, trade shows, conventions, send with presentations and  of course networking events.  If your business card is not professionally designed, hard to read, or missing important information your opportunity to create a customer can be lost at hello.  Designing a business card can seem expensive.  Have you consider the cost of a missed opportunity?    A poorly designed business card can give the wrong impression of who you are and what your company can do for them.

Steps to a great business card:

  1. Use your logo as the basis. Make it the largest element on the card.
  2. Get them designed and printed professionally
  3. Include the essentials — your name, title, company name, address, phone and fax numbers, and email and website addresses.
  4. Make sure the typeface is easily readable.
  5. Design for your  business type and customer.
