Label Tips made simple
If you know the answers to these questions then you are well on your way to getting the right label for your project:
- What is the surface the label is being applied to?
- What is the temperature when the label is applied?
- What is the temperature the label will be exposed to during its lifespan?
- Will the label be exposed to chemicals, water, oil or solvents?
- Will the label be exposed to direct sunlight?
- Will the label be used outside or in a harsh environment?
- Is the label used in a secondary printer?
- Is the label machine or hand applied?
- What is the expected lifespan of the label?
- Does the label need to be removable?
Have the answers to all or most of the questions will help to make sure you are getting the right type of material and adhesive. Two of the main problems with labels are ink fades or label doesn’t stick to the surface. This is usually a breakdown in the understanding of applications.
